Week 2 Recap 11/28/2011

No weight lost :(  BUMMER, BUT, my belly is 50 1/4 "!!!  Hopefully this means lost fat and building muscle!  Another interesting week, very sore until the middle of the week, but the extreme soreness is starting to finally fade.  Still finding the motivation hard to leave the house, almost looking for reasons to not go, but once I get there I'm rejuvenated.  I can't believe how much I have lost riding the bike and running on the treadmill over the years.  I've been struggling but just make sure that I monitor my heart rate and hit my mark.  140 is the goal for my 10's, but it doesn't take much.  Thursday was Thanksgiving and although I did keep mostly on track, I did sway a little and had some marshmallow apple salad and a slice of velvet red cake for my other nieces birthday.  Guilt?  Yes, but it is what it is... I even worked out at midnight just to keep me on track.  There were actually just a few of us there, but regardless the reason why we were there, we all obvously had some sort of dedication... or OCD lol.  Finishing up after 1 am and feeling good was a nice accomplishment for me.  Friday I was off and the weather was beautiful and really gave me a chance to do some yardwork before the snow came that I had really not had the time to do previously.  It was a gift from above, as this weather normally we do not receive this time of year.  I was exhausted four hours later, but finishing up the mess in my yard was success.  That night as I was getting ready to hit my cardio, my 3 month old son, the newest addition to the family was not a happy baby and my wife was exhausted.  I took the watch and unfortunately snoozed off.. by the time I woke up, it was too late to hit the gym, and in all honesty I was not one bit guilty.  I really busted my butt out in the yard and it should be good enough for my cardio.. and it's not, it is what it is.  One day missed in 14 days, not so bad... fell off the horse, just get back on it.

This weeks cheat day I moved to Saturday instead of my normal Sunday, as it was my nieces birthday party.  Thursday probably should have been my cheat day, but I didn't feel guilty about it.  Again to my brothers for my sister in laws wonderful cooking, yummy!  I had some blue cheese and honey dip with some crackers, some pasta, a beef, some potatoes with chorizo, sour cream, and avocado.

Week 1 Recap 11/21/2011

Three pounds lost this week, yeah!  This week has been confusing, although I have made it to the gym everyday, it's been tough to motivate myself to go the gym, but I did it.  The only time I have is late in the evening after 9pm, but at least the family is all in bed, and I can go.  I know it's late,  but if I'm able to watch a bunch of mind numbing television shows that I seem to love or play Modern Warfare 3 to all hours of the night, sacraficing 45 minutes to a little over an hour shouldn't be a big deal.  I'm a little sore, but it's expected.  My shoulder is acting up, worried I'm going to hurt it.  Cardio made me feel like I've never run or ridden a bike before, it's been back to square one.  Sunday was my free day and although I didn't really have a craving yet, I got the text that got me having one.  I ended up accepting an invitation to my brother's house, where my sister in law cooked up a storm.  Lucky for me, they were Chilles Rellenos, stuffed peppers, yummy... Mexican rice and beans.  What a way to reward myself.  Here' to week 2!

Day 1: 11/14/2011 The beginning to my transition...

Today out of the blue, I decided to go to the gym and work out.  I have been debating getting back in shape... as if it were really an option.  Seeing pictures, knowing my health is going in the wrong direction, my two little boys smiling at me everyday was the motivation I needed.  Instead of turning on PS3 to play MW3 with my nephews, I made the trek to the gym at nearly 10:00 pm... they let me in lol... 265 pounds of pure love with a wonderful 53" belly.  I really have my work cut out for me, I sometimes wonder how I got here.
